Innovative Magnets for GM Engines: What you need to know?

General Motors, the owner of the Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac and Buick, is really focused on making electric cars, which are good for the environment and affordable. To do this, they are working on making the motors for these cars better. These motors use special magnets that can help save money and reduce harm to the environment. GM also wants to make more of the car parts in North America. Usually, the magnets in the electric car motors are made from materials that are rare and expensive. These materials mostly come from other countries.

A company called Niron Magnetics in Minneapolis has created something special. They made a magnet for cars that doesn't need any of these rare and expensive materials. They used something called "iron nitride," which is easy to find and costs less. This could be used in future electric cars of GM such as: 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV, 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ and 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV.
