According to Björn Annwall, who is the chief commercial officer and deputy CEO, the release of the EX90 Excellence showcases their aptitude for innovation in the topmost luxury category and their capability to cater to the needs of certain markets.
The EX90 Excellence has undergone some minor modifications from its seven-seater counterpart, resulting in a more confident and luxurious appearance. These changes include a two-tone color scheme and specially designed 22-inch forged rims that improve aerodynamic performance, strength, and handling. Despite these updates, the vehicle is still based on the stunning Volvo EX90 that was unveiled to the public in late 2020.
As stated by Javier Varela, the deputy CEO and chief operating officer, the EX90 reflects the present and future direction of the company. The car is completely electric and has been created to enhance the safety measures of Volvo. It also marks the beginning of a new era for Volvo as it is the first car that has been defined by its software and is part of a larger ecosystem that connects with other devices in your home.
Upon entering the interior space, a significant transformation takes place. The rear-row seats have been eliminated and replaced with two separate seats that come with plush soft cushions. Notably, the comfort of the second-row seats has been optimized to provide a superior seating experience. Additionally, a refrigerator has been integrated between the two seats, enabling you to store a large bottle and enjoy a refreshing cold drink whenever you wish. The center console features an exquisite piece of natural wood, and a touch panel has been discreetly installed to regulate the comfort control. This panel allows you to adjust your seat heating, with a choice of three different levels, and a massage function with five levels of intensity.
The EX90 Excellence has a fragrance dispenser controlled by a microswitch in the Orrefors crystal piece. The cabin has mood lighting that creates a calming atmosphere. The upholstery options include Nordico made from recycled PET bottles and bio-attributed materials and a certified wool-blend. Both options meet strict sustainability, animal welfare, and social and environmental standards.
