The Ultimate Towing Machine: Ford F-150 Lightning Pro Trailer Hitch Assist is Here!
On Thursday, Ford will resume taking orders for the upcoming batch of 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning for customers who have reserved the vehicle. The new models will come with enhanced features, such as an increase in the standard range battery models, which is expected to cover a distance of 240 miles according to the EPA. Additionally, the new models will be equipped with Pro Trailer Hitch Assist technology.
Pro Trailer Hitch Assist is a groundbreaking feature that simplifies the process of hitching trailers by automatically managing steering, throttle, and brake inputs. This feature comes as part of the standard Tow Technology Package, which is available on Pro, XLT, and Lariat trims, and is also included in certain Lariat trims and the Platinum trim.
From autumn, vehicles that come with the standard range battery and are available on Pro, XLT, and Lariat trims will have an anticipated EPA-estimated range of 240 miles, which is an improvement from the previous 230 miles.
F-150 Lightning customers now have the option to select two new colors from the available 10 options – Azure Gray metallic tri-coat and Avalanche Gray. These colors will replace Atlas Blue, Ice Blue Silver, and Smoked Quartz Metallic, which will no longer be available on models manufactured from this fall onwards.
Ford has introduced the Ford Pro Special Service Vehicle Package for F-150 Lightning Pro models, which includes heavy-duty cloth front seats, intrusion plates, and roof-mounted LED warning beacons. The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of the F-150 Lightning has been adjusted due to rising material costs and other factors, but customers with existing orders will be charged the previously agreed-upon MSRP. Lightning reservation holders who were unable to order due to unavailable vehicle specifications will receive a private offer for use in upcoming waves.
