Revolutionized Driving: New MINI’s Round OLED Display & OS 9!
The detailed interior of the next-generation Cooper, showcasing advanced tech features designed to enhance the driving experience, has been unveiled by MINI.
One of the standout features is the circular OLED display, measuring 9.44 inches in diameter, positioned at the center of the dashboard. This marks a first in the industry, as MINI is the pioneer in implementing OLED technology at this size. The display serves as an interface for the new cloud-based navigation system, which offers optimized route planning for electric MINI models and includes 3D maps and AI views.
The MINI Operating System 9, based on an Android Open Source Project (AOSP) software stack, powers the circular OLED display and represents the latest version of BMW Group's infotainment software. This operating system opens up a range of possibilities and features for the MINI Cooper's interior.
MINI introduces three unique Experience Modes accessible through the display: Core, Green, and Go-Kart. Each mode features its own design and comes with additional light and sound effects to enhance the driving ambiance. To make interacting with the system easier, MINI introduces a new intelligent voice assistant named Spike. Users can activate Spike by saying "Hey MINI," and it enables quick control over various functions, including navigation, telephony, radio, and temperature.
The 2025 MINI Countryman Electric and 2024 Mini Cooper SE are anticipated to integrate advanced features like a 9.44" OLED display, MINI OS 9, unique driving modes, an intelligent assistant, Spike, and a variety of apps via the MINI Connected Store, elevating the driving experience.
The MINI Connected Store offers a wide selection of applications that users can download, including AirConsole games, video streaming apps, Spotify, and more. Additionally, the system supports optional 5G connectivity, allowing for over-the-air updates that ensure the interface stays up-to-date with the latest features.
Addressing the audio experience, MINI promises a distinctive sound encounter for all-electric models, featuring new driving sounds within the cabin, different outer sounds, and jingles for each Experience Mode, as well as 30 new sound signals for information and warnings.
While MINI introduces its futuristic interior with a circular OLED display and intelligent voice assistant, Acura takes the audio experience to new heights with a Bang & Olufsen sound revolution in the ZDX EV.
