Tesla Cybertruck ‘No Resale’ Policy: What You Need to Know before Facing that Problem
The future owners of Tesla Cybertruck may be subject to a "no resale" policy for a specific duration, as some have observed in recent purchasing agreements for Tesla's other vehicles.
According to Tesla's terms and conditions for certain recent Model 3 and Model Y purchases, the company stipulates that Cybertruck buyers must refrain from selling the vehicle for up to one year following its delivery date. This clause has been identified by multiple parties within the terms and conditions for other vehicle purchases, specifically under a section titled "For Cybertruck Only."
In the event that Cybertruck owners intend to sell their vehicles within the first year after delivery, they must initially inform Tesla in writing to request an exception from the no-reseller policy. If Tesla grants the exception, owners may then sell the vehicle back to the automaker. Alternatively, if Tesla declines the request, sellers may seek written consent from the automaker to resell the Cybertruck to third parties.
