Inside the New 2025 Mini Countryman EV – Top Features and 287 Mile Range!
The automotive industry is buzzing with the announcement of the 2025 Mini Countryman. This anticipated unveiling is not surprising given the growing interest in electric vehicles. Mini, consistent with its progressive approach, has chosen to reveal the Countryman in its electric avatar first.
Interestingly, the new Countryman has outgrown its predecessor. It’s 5.1 inches longer, 2.4 inches taller, and slightly wider, making it a notable comparison with the new Niro in terms of dimensions. This more extensive framework hasn't compromised the car's aesthetics; in fact, the blend of rugged elegance with contemporary features like colored accents, large wheels, distinctive headlights, and sleek body lines make it a visual treat.
Acknowledging the electric revolution, Mini has concentrated on enhancing the Countryman’s aerodynamics, managing to reduce the drag coefficient from 0.31 to 0.26.
Car enthusiasts have two electric variants to consider: the Countryman E and Countryman SE ALL4. The former offers a single motor producing 204 horsepower with a respectable 0-60 mph in 8.6 seconds. In contrast, the SE version is equipped with dual motors that push the horsepower to 313, achieving a 0-60 mph in a mere 5.6 seconds.
Both models carry a 64.7 kWh battery pack. The E variant promises a range of 287 miles (WLTP), while the SE slightly trails at 269 miles. Charging will be hassle-free with a 130 kW maximum charge rate, translating to an 80% charge in less than half an hour.
Gasoline versions of the Countryman are expected to follow, featuring the base and an upgraded S ALL4 variant. Mini teases more potent engines for these models. Europe is set to receive a diesel variant, and there's also talk about a John Cooper Works performance variant.
Driving pleasure is at the heart of Mini’s vehicles, and the Countryman promises to be no different. The standard suspension system ensures an exhilarating driving experience. But for those seeking an edge, there's an optional Adaptive Suspension and broader tire width for enhanced grip.
Internally, the 2025 Mini Countryman is a symphony of vibrant textiles and minimalist design. A round OLED touchscreen takes center stage, offering a user-friendly interface. With the vehicle's expanded dimensions, Mini boasts of more room, ensuring comfort for all passengers and more cargo space.
Mini hasn't overlooked safety and convenience. The Countryman comes with advanced driver assistance systems, with options like adaptive cruise control and lane centering. The Driving Assistance Professional package offers hands-free highway driving, reminiscent of several BMW models.
As for when and how much? The pricing details for the electric Countryman variants are still under wraps. But one can expect them to be available for the 2025 model year, post the production of the 2024 Minis.
This release is a testament to Mini's commitment to innovation while staying true to its legacy. The 2025 Countryman seems set to make waves in the automotive market with its perfect blend of tradition and modernity.
