Mercedes-Benz has officially announced the release date of the all-new Mercedes-Benz Electric G-Class. Scheduled for debut in 2025, this marks the brand's transition into electrifying its iconic G-Class lineup. The new model will feature advanced electric drivetrain technology, offering a robust 116-kWh high-voltage lithium-ion battery integrated into its ladder frame. This integration helps maintain a low center of gravity and provides enhanced protection against elements like water and dirt.
The Mercedes-Benz Electric G-Class release date brings with it a promise of exceptional off-road and on-road performance. The vehicle is powered by four individually controlled electric motors, providing a combined output of 579 hp and 859 lb-ft of torque. It also includes innovative features such as virtual differential locks through torque vectoring, enhancing its off-road capabilities. The vehicle’s design incorporates a raised hood and new A-pillar trim, contributing to improved aerodynamics and interior acoustics.
Upon its release, the Mercedes-Benz Electric G-Class will be initially available exclusively in the U.S. market in the "EDITION ONE" special edition. This version will include expanded standard equipment and unique design elements tailored for a luxury electric driving experience. The MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system, along with a host of advanced safety and assistance systems, will come standard, ensuring that the electric G-Class is not only powerful and efficient but also safe and user-friendly.
