Get Ready for Alfa Romeo’s Game-Changing EV in 2024!
In 2024, Alfa Romeo plans to release its inaugural electric vehicle, which will take the form of a subcompact crossover based on the Jeep Avenger. This model, which was previously referred to as the 2024 Alfa Romeo Brennero, will serve a dual purpose for the brand. Firstly, it will signify Alfa Romeo's entry into the electric vehicle market. Secondly, it will provide the brand with an entry-level option that it has been lacking for some time.
Alfa Romeo's upcoming EV will represent its smallest offering since the discontinuation of the MiTo subcompact hatchback in 2018, and it may also be its most affordable, as the Jeep Avenger EV has a starting price of $40,600 in Germany, while the base Alfa Romeo Tonale Super is priced from $40,400.
In June 2024, Alfa Romeo plans to launch its subcompact crossover that will be available in both electric and mild-hybrid gasoline models. As the Jeep Avenger offers up to 250 miles range in electric mode, Alfa Romeo's electric version is expected to achieve a similar range. The 2024 Alfa Romeo Brennero crossover is likely to have a single motor powertrain that powers a front-mounted electric motor rated at 154 horsepower.
In order to reduce expenses and increase the likelihood of making a profit, Alfa Romeo plans to share its platform and technology with another Stellantis product. The company's upcoming electric vehicle is anticipated to have a unique design, setting itself apart from the Jeep Avenger and potentially incorporating modern and vintage elements inspired by the original Giulietta, according to CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato.
The first electric vehicle model from Alfa Romeo will be released in 2025 and will be based on an electric vehicle-focused platform. Alfa Romeo also plans to release a flagship electric vehicle in the larger segment by around 2027, which will be available in global markets including North America.
