Genesis Launches Ultimate Home Charging Station for EV Owners!
The Genesis brand, which is a part of Hyundai Motor Group and focuses on luxury vehicles, has initiated a program called Genesis Home, aimed at electrifying homes.
This program offers a package similar to Tesla's Powerwall. The Genesis Home program has been introduced by Genesis to simplify the process for customers by guiding them through the options for solar energy, home energy storage solutions, and EV charging.
Genesis provides a comprehensive marketplace with a dedicated energy advisor who helps customers in choosing the right components for their home electrification journey. The ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 Charger is the standard EV charger. However, customers' requirements of solar panels and batteries for storage may vary. Hence, the Energy Advisors come into play to tailor the energy solution to meet each customer's individual energy needs. Genesis provides post-installation support to customers by answering their queries and helping them configure the system.
According to the car manufacturer, the newly introduced scheme supplements its current collaboration with Electrify America, wherein new buyers of Genesis electric vehicles are offered three years of free charging sessions lasting for 30 minutes each.
Claudia Marquez, who is the chief operating officer of Genesis Motor North America, explained that Genesis Home is a comprehensive mobility solution that enables customers to easily adopt electric vehicles and generate clean electric power. The system also allows customers to charge their electric cars using the energy harnessed from their homes. She further stated that Genesis Home is a one-stop-shop for home electrification needs that brings peace of mind to users.
Genesis Home supports all current EVs by the automaker such as Electrified G80, GV60, and Electrified GV70. Renewable energy generated can be stored in batteries and used during power outages. The pricing is yet to be disclosed, but it is expected to be comparable to conventional installation costs, which can be costly, running into tens of thousands of dollars.
