Ford Unveils 150,000th Mustang Mach-E for 2023 Release in 37 Countries!
Ford has achieved a significant milestone by manufacturing its 150,000th 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E within two years of commencing production. The company aims to increase its production rate of electric vehicles to 600,000 per year by the end of 2023 and over 2 million per year by 2026. The majority of Mustang Mach-E's growth is due to customers replacing their traditional combustion engine vehicles with electric ones. This trend is evident in more than 8 out of 10 US customers and 9 out of 10 European customers, indicating that Ford is successfully catering to a wide range of customer needs with its electric vehicles.
The vice president of Ford Model e's Electric Vehicle Programs, Darren Palmer, stated that they were aware of the skeptics when they introduced the pony on the Mustang. However, they didn't expect the car to become as popular as it has. He personally enjoys seeing the Mustang Mach-E vehicles on the road and conversing with customers, and has noticed an increase in their presence.
For the year 2023, the Mustang Mach-E will be sold in 37 countries worldwide, which is an increase from 22 countries in its first year. Some of the latest markets where the vehicle will be available include Brazil, Argentina, and New Zealand. The expansion of the vehicle's global reach coincides with upgrades being made to the Cuautitlán Stamping and Assembly Plant, which has already produced 150,000 vehicles, to better serve its growing customer base.
Deborah Manzano, who is in charge of Ford's manufacturing, stated that the plant is very busy with various new production lines such as battery line, chassis line, and assembly line to produce more Mustang Mach-E vehicles. They have also recently included a new paint shop. The plant is constantly evolving and expanding to cater to the production needs.
The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E is receiving recognition and praise, having won multiple awards such as the 2021 North American Utility of the Year and being named Edmunds' Top-Rated Luxury Electric Vehicle among other accolades.
