Ford on Tesla Superchargers Expands Electric Horizons for F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E Owners
Ford F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E owners in the U.S. and Canada can now use Tesla's fast-charging stations, a milestone for Ford on Tesla Superchargers access. This is big news because a study by Cox Automotive found that not having enough places to charge is one of the main reasons people hesitate to buy electric cars, right after the concern about their price. As electric cars become more affordable, having more fast-charging options like Tesla Superchargers helps convince more people to choose them.
To make charging even easier, Ford has connected with Tesla's Supercharger network, adding over 15,000 charging spots for its customers, highlighting Ford on Tesla Superchargers collaboration. This move doubles the fast-charging options available through Ford's own BlueOvalâ„¢ Charge Network. Plus, Ford is giving a special Fast Charging Adapter for free to its customers until June 30, 2024. This adapter is needed to use the newer Tesla Superchargers, showing Ford's commitment to making electric car ownership better and more convenient.
Ford is also working on making charging simpler with the BlueOvalâ„¢ Charge Network as part of its initiative for Ford on Tesla Superchargers ease of use. Customers can use the FordPass or Charge Assist Apps to pay for charging without needing a credit card at the station. The new Plug & Charge feature starts charging automatically when you plug in your car. And in the future, Ford plans to release new electric vehicles that won't need an adapter to use Tesla's Superchargers, making it even easier to charge up and go.
