Karma Unveils Its First Luxury Electric Vehicle, The Karma Gyesera
Karma Automotive, celebrating its 10th anniversary, has unveiled the Electric Karma Gyesera at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance, highlighting a significant evolution from its prior models like the 2021 GSe-6 electric sedan. The Electric Karma Gyesera, inspired by the design of the original Fisker Karma, features a body constructed from carbon fiber and aluminum on an aluminum spaceframe chassis. While it retains some rear quarter panels from the Revero, the Electric Karma Gyesera has been extensively redesigned, with about 85% of the car updated, establishing it as a standout GT on the road.
The Electric Karma Gyesera, equipped with a 590-horsepower electric powertrain and a 120.0-kWh battery, is expected to deliver over 250 miles of range and impressive performance figures, including acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4.2 seconds and a top speed exceeding 135 mph. Despite its significant curb weight of 5,300 pounds, these preliminary figures from simulations and early testing hint at the vehicle's potential. This positions the Electric Karma Gyesera in a premium pricing tier, indicating a more exclusive and costly option compared to competitors like the Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan.
Introduced alongside the Kaveya electric coupe, the Electric Karma Gyesera distinguishes itself with its sophisticated design, robust electric powertrain, and the allure of limited production. Karma Automotive's continued innovation and expansion of its lineup with the Electric Karma Gyesera underscores the company's dedication to melding performance, luxury, and environmental sustainability in the evolving electric vehicle marketplace.
