Update on 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E: No Charger Included
Introducing the new and improved 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E EV! This upgraded version offers increased power, extended range, and faster charging capabilities, all at a lower price than its predecessor. However, it's worth noting that Ford has made a change - the previously included mobile power cord will now be available as an optional add-on that comes at an extra cost.
Previously, the Ford Mobile Charger (FMC) came as a complimentary accessory with the Mach-E, but now it is priced at $500. Similarly, Tesla's Mobile Connector used to be included with the Model Y, but now it costs $230. Interestingly, the Ford Mobile Charger (FMC) is available for purchase separately in the accessories shop for $470. This means that if someone decides not to buy the charger when configuring a new Mach-E and instead purchases it separately, they could potentially save $30.
The mobile cord features a J1772 connector, which is commonly used in the industry. It also has switchable plug-ends that enable charging with either a 120-volt outlet or a 240-volt NEMA 14-150 outlet. This makes it an ideal solution for electric vehicle owners who don't have access to a Level 2 charger, whether they're at home or on the go.
Despite the fact that the initial prices for the upgraded 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E have been reduced by up to $5,000, the American electric crossover now only qualifies for half of the $7,500 tax credit. Additionally, the destination charge has increased from $1,500 to $1,800. As a result, the final cost is now slightly higher or comparable to what it was before.
Ford has launched a new Comfort Package Lite for the Mach-E Select trim, priced at $1,500. It includes heated front seats, a memory driver's seat, a heated steering wheel, and power-folding side mirrors. However, it does not include the power liftgate and cargo area cover. The GT Performance Package has also been reduced in price by $1,000, now priced at $5,000. It adds upgrades like a more powerful front e-motor, MagneRide suspension, 20-inch wheels with summer tires and performance seats in the front row.
In case you're interested in staying updated, Ford has recently made the decision to incorporate Tesla charging ports into their vehicles.
