Unveiling the 2024 Kia Niro EV: Range, Price, and Features!
A hallmark of their lineup since its 2017 introduction, Kia's Niro EV steps into its second model year after its second-generation overhaul. Despite the anticipation, the changes for 2024 are relatively minimal.
Tracing back, Kia introduced the Niro as a conventional model in 2016, with an electric version following in 2018. The company's 2022 refresh of the Niro EV was part of Hyundai Motor Group's broader electrification goals and garnered widespread praise. With an initial price tag below $40,000, the SUV was celebrated for offering cutting-edge EV tech at an affordable rate, including features like V2L capabilities and a head-up display.
In the recent announcement for the 2024 model, Kia retained much of the technology from the previous year. Key specifications remain: a 64.8 kWh battery pack, 253 miles of EPA range, 201 horsepower, and 188 lb.-ft. of torque. The Niro EV also maintains its notable HUD, V2L features, and generous cargo space - the latter seeing an addition with a standard dual-level cargo floor.
However, on the aesthetic front, there are slight tweaks. The Wind trim has bid farewell to its Light Grey interior package, and the Fire Orange Metallic exterior paint has been removed from options.
In terms of pricing, the 2024 Kia Niro EV sees a modest increase, with the Wind priced at $39,600 and the Wave at $44,600, a mere $50 hike from their 2023 counterparts (excluding additional fees).
By the way, KIA unveiled the 2025 KIA EV5 at the Chengdu Motor Show in China. The car's distinct charm is evident, and there's buzz about it hitting U.S. roads soon.
