2024 Chevy Blazer EV PPV Unleashed: 498 HP Beast with 250-Mile Range!
General Motors has unveiled a high-performance, purpose-built 2024 Chevy Blazer EV Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV), a showcase of advanced technology and robust design. Constructed on the SS performance trim level and Ultium platform, this PPV is tailored for high-speed chases, boasting features like a certified speedometer, heavy-duty suspension, underbody skid plates, 20-inch steel wheels, and Brembo brakes.
The vehicle is powered by a 400-volt all-wheel-drive system, capable of up to 498 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque, with a GM-estimated range of 250 miles. The low center of gravity provided by the Ultium platform ensures dynamic handling, and the aggressive design draws attention and admiration.
With a 105 kWh battery, the Chevrolet Blazer's charging capabilities allow adding up to 71 miles of range in just 10 minutes. Other innovations include a rear camera mirror, disabled rear door handles, keyless entry, contactless ignition, and a “Protected Idle” feature for quick chase readiness.
The first launch of this vehicle series will be the Chevy Blazer RS AWD this summer, with additional models to follow in the fall. The specialized police version is expected in the first quarter of 2024.
In other news, Chevrolet has formally initiated the distribution of its eagerly awaited 2023 Chevrolet Blazer EV, marking a new electrified addition to their vehicle range. The initial release phase of the Blazer EV incorporates the all-wheel-drive (AWD) 2LT version, a high-end model with an entry price point at $56,715.
