Tesla Introduces Premium Color Wraps for Model 3 and Model Y
Tesla has introduced premium color wraps for its 2023 Model 3 and 2023 Model Y vehicles. Available through their online platform and app, these wraps allow owners to alter their car's appearance without a complete repaint. Made from a self-healing urethane-based film, these wraps not only provide a fresh color but also safeguard the original paint from damage.
The color wraps come in seven distinct shades: Satin Stealth Black, Slip Grey, Glacier Blue, Satin Rose Gold, Forest Green, Satin Ceramic White and Crimson Red. Prices range from $7,500 to $8,000, covering both material and installation at Tesla Service Centers. However, the service is presently exclusive to West Covina and Carlsbad in Southern California, with an installation time of five to seven business days, and no loaner vehicles available during the process.
Color wrap | Price |
---|---|
Satin Stealth Black | $7,500 |
Slip Grey | $7,500 |
Gracier Blue | $8,000 |
Satin Rose | $8,000 |
Forest Green | $8,000 |
Satin Ceramic White | $8,000 |
Crimson Red | $8,000 |
Tesla also offers a transparent wrap for $5,000, which preserves the original paint while offering protection. This wrap is different from the color wraps as it doesn't cover door jambs.
It's important to highlight that these wraps are exclusive to 2023 or newer Tesla Model 3 and Model Y models. Moreover, to purchase through the app, users should have version 4.23.0 or newer. Given that the upcoming Tesla Cybertruck has been seen with wraps, it's speculated that similar offerings might be available for it too, as painting its stainless steel body isn't feasible.
By the way, Tesla has recently updated its latest 2023.32.4 software, bringing substantial camera quality improvements, particularly for HW3 vehicles.
