Rivian R1T: The Most Satisfying Electric Vehicle of 2023 – J.D. Power Study
According to the J.D. Power 2023 U.S. Electric Vehicle Experience (EVX) Ownership Study, the 2023 Rivian R1T has received recognition as the Premium Battery Electric Vehicle with the most satisfying ownership experience. The R1T was ranked the highest among all other vehicles in the study and came out on top in seven out of 10 key ownership factors specific to premium battery electric vehicles.
Today, a new report was published that establishes a benchmark for measuring how satisfied electric vehicle (EV) owners are based on key factors that influence the overall EV ownership experience. The study analyzed battery electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles from the 2022 and 2023 model years, and according to EV owners, the R1T performed exceptionally well in terms of driving pleasure, vehicle quality and dependability, service quality, design inside and out, ownership expenses, ease of charging at home, and accuracy of advertised battery range. The R1T was ranked as the top premium battery electric vehicle in these categories by EV owners.

Rivian's electric vehicles, especially the R1T, are known for their exceptional performance and safety features. J.D. Power recognized Rivian as having the best ownership experience in the industry.
Doug Betts, President of Automotive Division at J.D. Power, has stated that the competition in the automobile industry is evolving with the introduction of numerous electric vehicle models. The 2023 Rivian R1T has been ranked as the best vehicle in this year's survey, achieving high scores in ten factors that affect the ownership experience, such as Vehicle Quality & Reliability, Cost of Ownership, and Driving Enjoyment. It has been ranked as the top-performing premium electric vehicle.
The J.D. Power 2023 U.S. EVX Ownership Study surveyed over 7,000 electric vehicle owners between August and December 2022. The study measured satisfaction across ten areas using a 1,000-point scale, including styling, safety/technology, service experience, ease of charging at home, availability of public charging, accuracy of stated range, battery range, driving enjoyment, quality and reliability, and cost of ownership, in both premium and mass-market segments.
