Exciting Update: Apple Maps EV Routing Now Available for Porsche Taycan in US
Taycan owners can now use Apple Maps EV Routing to plan their journey. In conjunction with Apple, Porsche Digital Inc. has enabled the ability for US-based customers to navigate and route-plan using Apple Maps within Apple CarPlay. That means drivers no longer need to exit the CarPlay ecosystem in order to plot a route that includes charging stops.
The Porsche Taycan's standard Charging Planner optimizes charging stops based on factors like anticipated state of charge, traffic, and average speed. By integrating Apple Maps EV Routing, drivers have more flexibility and choice in personalizing their journeys. This allows for a tailored navigation experience that aligns with individual preferences and requirements, combining the capabilities of the Porsche Charging Planner and Apple Maps EV Routing for an ideal journey configuration.
Steffen Haug, Managing Director of Porsche Digital, Inc., acknowledges the importance of customer feedback and their desire for flexibility. He states, "We value our customers' feedback, and their preference for flexibility is evident. By integrating with a familiar product, we are offering them additional choices and boosting their confidence in utilizing their Taycan, whether it's for daily routines or extended journeys." This integration, in collaboration with a widely recognized and trusted platform, provides Taycan owners with expanded options and a greater sense of assurance when utilizing their vehicles in various scenarios, further enhancing their overall driving experience.
Apple Maps EV routing uses real-time vehicle data to recommend charging stops, considering factors like elevation changes and other parameters. In low charge situations, it suggests the nearest compatible charging station. US-based Porsche Taycan owners can activate this feature by updating the My Porsche app and following a simple process in Apple Maps. Enjoy the benefits of Apple Maps EV routing with ease.
