Polestar & Amazon Team Up: Prime Video Arrives in Your Dashboard!
The 2024 Polestar 2 electric sedan impresses with both design and performance, particularly after its 2024 model year makeover. Despite some initial hesitations regarding its 11.2-inch Google-based center display, Polestar has continually enhanced its tech offerings through over-the-air updates.
By December 2021, the Vivaldi web browser was integrated. Fast forward to 2023, and the system now supports a native YouTube app and the recently added Amazon Prime Video. The infotainment suite also boasts Waze, A Better Routeplanner, AccuWeather, and more. Coupled with an optional Harman Kardon sound system, the Polestar 2 promises an immersive media experience, though limited by its portrait-style display.
The 2024 model showcases an updated exterior and new wheel designs for a sleeker appearance. Most notably, the entry-level Polestar 2 now packs a 299 horsepower rear-wheel-drive, replacing its 231 horsepower front-wheel counterpart. Accompanying this power boost, its battery capacity was upped to 82 kilowatt-hours, elevating the range from 270 to 320 miles. This Single Motor variant also boasts a 12% increase in EPA efficiency.
Amazon Prime is gaining popularity as an infotainment source, while the demand for AWD versions of electric vehicles is on the rise.
