Kevin Giek, Vice President for the model line, remarked on the exceptional performance of the new Porsche Taycan range during this practical test in Southern California. He highlighted that the particularly efficient Taycan sports saloon, equipped with a large battery, achieved a total range of up to 587 kilometers. This achievement, he noted, is a testament to the model's efficiency and aligns with Porsche's ongoing commitment to their 'fast travel' strategy for electric mobility, which emphasizes short charging intervals coupled with high real-world ranges.

The range assessment for the new Porsche Taycan range was conducted under normal driving conditions, with twelve international media representatives piloting four vehicles over three days along the Interstate Highways 405 and 5, connecting the metropolitan areas of Los Angeles and San Diego. Adhering to the maximum interstate speed limit of 75 mph (approximately 120 km/h), all test vehicles were outfitted with the larger Performance Battery Plus. The charging tests, conducted at the Electrify America Charger in Torrance/Los Angeles, revealed that the new Porsche Taycan range could sustain over 300 kW of charging power for extended periods, achieving a 10 to 80 percent state of charge in less than 20 minutes on multiple occasions. This test not only demonstrated improved charging efficiency and reduced charging times but also underscored improvements in the commencement of the charging process.

With nearly 150,000 units produced since its inception, the Taycan has established a strong presence in major markets such as the US, the UK, Germany, and China. The forthcoming presentation of the extensively revised new Porche Taycan range is highly anticipated, showcasing the latest advancements in Porsche's electric vehicle technology.
