Introducing 2025 Volvo EX30: The All-Electric Small SUV!
Volvo has launched its latest model, the 2025 Volvo EX30, in Milan, Italy, which is now available for purchase in selected markets. This small premium SUV marks Volvo's fourth all-electric vehicle and the first in the small premium SUV category. With the automotive industry moving towards full electrification, the EX30 is Volvo's answer to capturing the increasing demand for electric cars in a rapidly growing market.
The EX30 model is set to be released in the U.S. next year, and it will be the most affordable option in Volvo's lineup. It comes with a starting price of $36,145, which includes the $1,195 destination charge.
The EX30 embodies all of its design principles with a well-balanced and sophisticated exterior. Its electric features are easily recognizable, with a confident look, a closed shield, and digital Thor's Hammer headlights. It comes in five vibrant exterior colors, such as the stylish Cloud Blue and the expressive Moss Yellow, inspired by lichen on coastal rocks, which give it a distinct personality.
The EX30 powertrain offers three different options and two types of batteries to choose from. This makes it easy for you to get started with an affordable option that suits your needs. If you primarily drive in the city or take shorter trips, the single-motor option with an LFP battery is an excellent choice. This battery type is both cost-effective and eco-friendly, making it an excellent option for those who don't require maximum range.
For those who want to maximize their vehicle's range, we recommend the Single Motor Extended Range variant with an NMC extended-range battery. With superior efficiency compared to the LFP variant, this battery type offers an impressive range of up to 275 miles per charge, along with 268 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque. If you're looking for performance, the Twin Motor Performance variant is the best choice. It comes with an NMC battery and an additional second e-motor, providing 428hp and can go from 0-60 mph in just 3.6 seconds. This option is Volvo's fastest-accelerating car ever.
The 2025 Volvo EX30 charger is capable of charging your car quickly and efficiently. The extended-range version can charge up to 153kW, while the standard-range can handle 134kW. With a 10 to 80% charge taking just over 25 minutes, you can get back on the road in no time. Additionally, the car's centre display and app allow for customization of the amperage, maximum charging level and start time. The car's chassis has been fine-tuned to offer an optimized driving experience. A low centre of gravity and evenly distributed weight make it perfect for city driving.
Volvo is making the EX30 safer by installing its full range of active safety features, which includes an enhanced version of its automated parking assist capable of operating in different types of parking areas. Furthermore, the car now has an alert system to inform the driver of approaching pedestrians or cyclists when parked parallel to the curb. In addition, the EX30 will come equipped with phone-as-key technology, although Volvo has not confirmed which smartphones are compatible, they have guaranteed that the tech will work with a wide range of devices.
The latest model of the EX30 is now available for pre-order, but it won't be delivered until early 2024 since it's the 2025 model year. The EX30 Cross Country will be available for pre-order after the standard model is launched, and production is expected to begin before the end of next year.
