The EV8 is set to share the eM platform with the Genesis GV90 SUV. A standout aspect of the EV8 is its impressive 113.2 kWh battery pack, expected to deliver a range of 435 to 500 miles
According to the Kia EV8 First Details, the vehicle is expected to offer a variety of powertrain configurations. The high-end version of the Kia EV8 is set to feature dual motors, delivering a total power output of 603 horsepower, with 335 horsepower to the front wheels and 268 horsepower to the rear. On the other hand, the standard models of the EV8 are likely to be equipped with a single 215-horsepower motor for rear-wheel drive. Additionally, the all-wheel-drive variants of the EV8 are expected to include a supplementary 215-horsepower motor for the front wheels. The launch of the first vehicles utilizing the eM platform, which includes both the Kia EV8 and the Genesis GV90, is targeted for 2026. In terms of pricing, the Kia EV8 is expected to be competitively placed between the existing EV6 and EV9 models, with starting prices at $42,600 and $54,900, respectively, indicating its position as a mid-range option in the market.
