Genesis Expands Electric Vehicle Sales to 33 States in the US
Hyundai Motor Group's luxury brand Genesis has broadened its electric vehicle (EV) presence by adding 10 new states, bringing the total to 33. These new states include Arkansas, Hawaii, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.
Furthermore, Genesis now boasts nine standalone retail facilities in the US with the recent inauguration of two new stores in California (Genesis of South Bay near Los Angeles) and Louisiana (Genesis of Baton Rouge). These modern facilities offer customers an immersive experience with open floor plans and personal advisors from Genesis Concierge to enhance the buying journey.
Claudia Marquez, the COO of Genesis Motor North America, expressed enthusiasm about the brand's trajectory. She highlighted that the rapid expansion in Genesis EV sales is a testament to the brand's dedication to lead the transition to an all-electric future by 2030.
Interestingly, the journey began only 18 months ago with the launch of the 2023 Genesis GV60 in a limited four-state market. Today, Genesis EV sales figures stand at an impressive 6,163 units in the US. This growth underscores the brand's capability to cater to the evolving demands of American consumers.
In a move to further bolster Genesis EV sales, the company has announced strategic collaborations, including aligning with the Tesla-developed North American Charging Standard (NACS) by 2024. This ensures that Genesis EVs will be seamlessly compatible with Tesla's vast Supercharging network, promising customers a smooth and efficient charging experience.
By the way, Genesis GV70 has earned the prestigious Top Safety Pick+ accolade from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
