Ram Truck has unveiled the first-ever battery-electric light-duty pickup truck, the 2025 Ram 1500 REV, at the New York International Auto Show in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
Ram Truck aims to provide customers with innovative electrified solutions in the years ahead, and the Ram 1500 REV is a significant step towards achieving that goal. According to Mike Koval Jr., CEO of Ram brand, this new model outperforms its competitors in crucial areas such as range, towing capacity, payload, and charging time, and is a remarkable addition to the brand's award-winning lineup.
In the upcoming 2025 Ram 1500 REV, customers will have the choice of two all-electric options. The first option includes a standard battery pack that has a capacity of 168 kilowatt-hours and a range of up to 350 miles. The second option features a larger battery pack with a capacity of 229 kilowatt-hours and an unprecedented range of up to 500 miles. Both options can be quickly charged with 800-volt DC fast charging at up to 350 kW, which can add up to 110 miles of range in 10 minutes, providing customers with a speedy and convenient charging solution.
The Ram 1500 REV has the ability to charge another Stellantis battery-electric vehicle or provide power back to the grid through vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-home, and vehicle-to-grid bi-directional charging. Additionally, the truck can provide power to a home during a storm, run a tailgate party, or power a camp or jobsite, aligning with Ram's mission to simplify lives. The truck has an on-board power panel in the bed that can provide up to 7.2 kW and an available on-board power panel in the frunk that provides up to 3.6 kW. The truck boasts impressive performance figures such as a 0-60 mph time of 4.4 seconds, 654 horsepower and 620 lb.-ft. of torque, up to 24 inches of water fording, up to 14,000 pounds towing, and a maximum payload capacity of 2,700 pounds.
