Rivian’s Affordable Dual-Motor R1T Models Now in Stock at R1 Shop!
Rivian, the electric truck manufacturer, has begun producing its first dual-motor 2023 Rivian R1T models with in-house motors. These trucks are now available for purchase at the R1 Shop, just two months after the first dual-motor R1T rolled off the production line in May.
The dual-motor R1T is equipped with Rivian's in-house Enduro drive units, which were introduced after reconfiguring part of their assembly line in February. By producing their own drive units and LFP battery packs, Rivian has managed to lower costs significantly, making the R1T a more attractive option for customers.
The electric vehicle maker now offers three powertrain options for the R1 series: dual-motor, dual-motor performance, and quad-motor. The recent unveiling of the performance version with 350 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque has received positive feedback from customers, with some stating that the dual-motor version performs admirably well.
According to Rivian's senior director of powertrain and thermal, Henry Huang, the dual-motor 2023 Rivian R1T is designed to meet the needs of most customers, offering a versatile and capable driving experience. With an attractive price tag of $79,000, these trucks are becoming an appealing choice for those within a serviceable area from a Rivian Service Center, with delivery options available within 14 days.
Overall, Rivian's in-house technology and focus on customer needs have positioned the R1T as a highly competitive electric truck in the market. Maybe this could potentially lead to an increase in R1T sales, as the Dual-Motor option is becoming more attractive to customers. Additionally, Rivian has recently announced that they will be focusing on manufacturing their highly anticipated electric SUV, the R1S.
