Cadillac Escalade Goes Electric with the Escalade IQ: All the Details!

On Monday, General Motors officially announced their intention to launch an all-electric model of their popular Cadillac Escalade later in the year.

The car manufacturer announced that they will name their latest SUV as the "Escalade IQ," which follows their electric vehicle naming pattern, consisting of the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq crossover and the upcoming ultra-luxury sedan called 2024 Cadillac Celestiq.

There is currently no information available to the public about the Escalade IQ. However, it has been confirmed that the vehicle will incorporate GM's Ultium battery technology

The upcoming Cadillac Escalade IQ is expected to make use of General Motors' cutting-edge Ultium battery cells, motors, and technologies, which the company plans to use for its next-generation electric vehicles. Based on the precedent set by the GMC Hummer EV SUV, the Escalade IQ could boast a battery capacity of around 177 kWh and be equipped with three electric motors. However, it's important to note that simply because it's labeled as an Escalade, it may not have the same features as the brand's well-known gasoline-powered SUV. Previous electric vehicles named after GM's conventional cars have featured unique design elements and technologies that differ from their predecessors.

Cadillac's Vice President, Rory Harvey, has confirmed that the company will launch three new electric models in 2023. It is highly likely that the Escalade IQ will be one of these models, as all three EVs are expected to be released in the same year. This means that the Escalade IQ could potentially be a 2024 model.
