Cadillac Lyriq Redefines Convenience with Deployable Door Handles!
The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq is set to bring a small yet impactful update that will enhance user convenience. A new report reveals that the electric SUV will feature deployable door handles, making the entry and exit process smoother and more seamless.
In the previous model, occupants had to press a button to unlock the front doors, and then pull the door open using a small shark fin-shaped handle at the bottom of the windows. The rear doors had tiny grab handles, making it a two-step process for passengers to access the vehicle.
However, the 2024 model will introduce lever-action door handles that are electrified and sit flush with the bodywork. These deployable handles will automatically pop out when the driver with the key fob approaches the EV, streamlining the door-opening process to a single step.
In terms of specifications, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq offers two options: a rear-wheel-drive model with 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, providing an EPA-estimated range of 314 miles from a 102-kilowatt-hour Ultium battery pack. Alternatively, the all-wheel-drive model boasts dual motors producing 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, offering a slightly lower range of 307 miles according to EPA estimates.
With the introduction of these user-friendly features and the success of the Lyriq, Cadillac aims to strengthen its position in the electric vehicle market. The company has ambitious plans to boost its BEV sales, including upcoming models like the Celestiq and Escalade IQ.
Furthermore, the Cadillac Lyriq 2024 has recently undergone updates to its range, offering all-wheel drive (AWD) and rear-wheel drive (RWD) options that can travel a distance of 307 to 314 miles.
