Tesla Model S & X Prices SLASHED AGAIN!
Tesla has once again lowered the prices of its higher-end models following a previous price cut earlier this year that generated interest in the company's electric vehicles. According to the company's website, the 2023 Tesla Model S and 2023 Tesla Model X will now start at $89,990 and $99,990 in the US, representing a reduction of 5.3% and 9.1%, respectively. Additionally, Tesla has reduced the prices of the higher-performance Plaid versions of each vehicle by 4.3% and 8.3%.
The Plaid versions of Model S and Model X have seen a significant reduction in price, with a decrease of $26,000 and $29,000 respectively since early January, now costing $109,990. Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently stated that the demand for Tesla vehicles is immense and will continue to increase as the company makes its cars more accessible. The decision to cut the prices of the S and X models after the company's previous price cuts suggests that these models may not have received as much of a boost as expected.
Tesla's pricing strategy is unique as they often adjust their prices, unlike other automotive manufacturers. In January, they reduced the prices of 2023 Tesla Model 3 and 2023 Tesla Model Y to make them more affordable. This was mainly to qualify for tax credits under the Inflation Reduction Act. However, after the Biden administration changed their criteria, Tesla increased the prices again to meet the new criteria.
