Porsche Taycan Global Sales Drop to 9,152 Units in Q1 2023 – Here’s Why!
According to Porsche, there was an 18% year-over-year increase in global car sales to 80,767 during the first quarter of 2023.
Porsche, a German automaker, expressed satisfaction with the growth observed in all sales regions, but unfortunately, they were unable to surpass their previous year's record in terms of all-electric car sales. In the first quarter, 2023 Porsche Taycan sales, which includes all versions, totaled 9,152, a 3.4 percent decrease compared to the previous year, marking the fourth consecutive quarter of year-on-year decline.
It is noteworthy that the Taycan is the only Porsche model that experienced a decline. The firm attributes this to the ongoing supply shortages in the supplier industry, which is having a significant impact on electric sports cars.
Last year, 2023 Porsche Taycan made up almost 14% of the brand's total volume, but this year it has decreased to 11.3%.
Porsche has achieved a worldwide sales record of more than 105,000 Taycans thus far. Given the present trends and future advancements, experts predict that Porsche could sell about 40,000 units of the model in the year 2023.
