2024 Jeep Wagoneer S Reveal: First All-Electric Model Ready for U.S. Release
The 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S reveal is set to introduce the brand's first all-electric model for the U.S. market. This fact has been known for some time. As the May 30 reveal date approaches, Jeep has released a teaser video that provides additional specifications beyond those disclosed in January. It is now confirmed that the Wagoneer EV will be a 2024 model, not a 2025 as previously thought.
The video, nearly two minutes long, was posted on YouTube and Jeep's other social media platforms. Filmed at Willow Springs Raceway in California, it begins with a disclaimer noting that the content is a dramatization. The video features the Jeep Wagoneer S in a simulated race against a Tesla Model Y Performance.
The video does not declare an outright winner but shows the Wagoneer S pulling ahead in the final moments. Jeep claims the vehicle can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds, slightly faster than earlier estimates. The Wagoneer S features an electric motor on each axle, providing all-wheel drive and a combined output of 600 horsepower. This power figure was previously reported, but the torque output is now confirmed at 617 pound-feet. This is 28 pound-feet less than the Hellcat V-8-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, which also appears briefly in the video. The 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S reveal promises a blend of performance and innovation.
When the Wagoneer S concept was first introduced in 2022, Jeep targeted a range of 400 miles. However, the current expectation is for the electric Wagoneer to achieve "300-plus" miles of range when it enters production this fall. Additional details are expected to be disclosed during the upcoming 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S reveal next week.
