2025 Fisker Pear Revealed: A Funky, Affordable Six-Seater with 300-Mile Range!
In the wave of electrification, Henrik Fisker, CEO of Fisker Inc., has made an exciting announcement that will fuel the fires of the EV industry. Dubbed as the "Pear," short for "Personal Electric Automotive Revolution," Fisker's compact EV is set to redefine the affordable electric vehicle segment with its starting price of $29,000.
Interestingly, the 2025 Fisker Pear will be eligible for federal incentives, which means the price could drop to as low as $22,400, putting it within reach for many American households. The Pear is set to be produced in the US, supporting domestic manufacturing and jobs.
The Pear rides on the innovative SLV1 platform, standing for Simple, Versatile, and Volume. This "steel plus plus" platform promises to enhance manufacturing efficiency by using 35% fewer parts than traditional platforms. The Pear will sport a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, with a touted range of approximately 300 miles per full charge.
However, Fisker enthusiasts will have to wait a bit longer to see this compact EV on the roads, with a projected launch timeline of mid-2025.
When it comes to design, Fisker's Pear certainly stands out from the crowd. The vehicle sports ultra-slim headlamps and an illuminated Pear logo, making it instantly recognizable. It also features radar sensors and a faux grille upfront that recalls the design of its sibling, the Fisker Ocean.
The innovative touches don't stop there. In a departure from traditional design, the 2025 Fisker Pear substitutes conventional wing mirrors for sleek and modern camera systems.
The rear design of the Pear includes a wraparound LED taillamp and a unique "Houdini trunk." This innovative trunk rolls down and disappears into the rear bumper, a feature Fisker claims could offer greater convenience in urban areas where parking spaces are often tight.
Fisker will be offering the Pear in five- and six-seat configurations. The six-seat version includes a bench seat upfront, allowing for three occupants abreast. Despite revealing ambitious plans to sell one million units of the Pear annually, Fisker has yet to specify the timeline for achieving this target.
The Pear is not just an electric vehicle; it's a statement. Fisker has aimed this car at "digital natives," a demographic known for its tech-savviness and interest in sustainable practices. By offering an affordable and innovative electric utility vehicle, Fisker hopes to satisfy the needs of this growing market segment.
The 2025 release of the Pear marks Fisker's major advancement towards an electric automotive revolution, alongside the debut of the new Fisker Ronin on Product Vision Day.
