To address the issue, Nissan will reprogram the vehicle control module for free. Owners will be notified about the recall on August 30, and they can contact the automaker at 1-800-867-7669 (Nissan's number for this recall is R23A6) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236.
