Hyundai IONIQ 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition: A Magical Ride Awaits in 2024
Hyundai and Disney have come together to present the world with an enchanting ride - the 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition. Set to grace the roads by early 2024, this limited-edition vehicle fuses Hyundai's automotive excellence with the timeless charm of Disney.
This collaboration materialized from the unique participation of Hyundai vehicle designers and the imaginative minds at Walt Disney Imagineering. The resulting IONIQ 5 is not just Hyundai's flagship all-electric vehicle but a delightful masterpiece for Disney enthusiasts.
Hyundai's tribute to Disney's centennial celebration was initially previewed at the 2023 New York Auto Show. This special edition stands subtly apart from the standard Ioniq 5. Dressed in a captivating Gravity Gold Matte finish, the vehicle sports unique "Disney-inspired wheels" and carries exclusive Disney100 Platinum emblems on its fenders.
Inside the vehicle, the magic continues. The Disney100 logo adorns the front headrests, center console, and floor mats, while the iconic silhouette of Mickey Mouse graces the door panels. Upon ignition, passengers are treated to a Disney-themed introduction on the infotainment system: a visual spectacle of the Disney100 logo and whimsical pixie dust accompanied by classic Disney tunes.
Hyundai remains tight-lipped about the technical specifics of this edition. However, the Ioniq 5 lineup boasts configurations in rear- or all-wheel drive, along with two battery pack options. Performance varies with the chosen configuration, offering power ranging from 168 to 320 horsepower and mileage between 228 to 303 miles.
With only 1,000 units of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition set for production, it promises exclusivity. Pricing remains a mystery, but for context, the standard Ioniq 5 begins at $42,785, inclusive of a $1,335 destination charge.
